My wife has been upset for quite some time that we have not visited our Family Deity this year. She believes we should visit at least once during the Tamil year.

At this time, she came across a YouTube video discussing a 1,000-year-old Temple in Poonamallee, not far from our home. This Temple, also known as Vaitheeswaran Temple, was said to be a place where people could pray if they could not visit the main Vaitheeswaran Temple.

Without hesitation, we planned to visit the Temple on her star birthday. We engaged a cab and set off early in the morning. It was less than an hour's drive, although the roads were not in good condition. Upon arrival, the Temple looked serene, quiet, and peaceful—there was no crowd or noise pollution.

With plenty of time on our hands, we had a wonderful darshan of Lord Vaitheeswaran and participated in the ‘archanai’ ceremony. Vaitheeswaran Temple is renowned for healing health-related issues, and Lord Angarakar is a significant Deity there. In this Vaitheeswaran Temple in Poonamallee, Lord Angarakar took on a formless shape. After praying to Him, Lord Kala Bhairava, and other Deities, we returned with a peaceful mind and satisfied soul.

We were delighted to visit this Vaitheeswaran Temple. My walking stick, though aged, still cares for me. It is my eyes and my guide in the outside world. Biologically, I may be aged, but in spirit, energy, enthusiasm, and outlook, she remains youthful and cheerful. What better occasion than her birthday to explore a new Temple, especially Vaitheeswaran Temple?

Now, I am curious to find out when exactly this Temple was built and who the king was who constructed it. The Temple did not appear to be in bad condition. Still, I wonder why it is not more popularized. As a Temple becomes more famous, the surrounding areas improve, infrastructure develops, shops emerge, and there is economic growth. I hope this happens.
